The President’s Own, the United States Marine Band, returns to the Fine Arts Center, under the direction of Col. Jason K. Fettig ’98 and guest conductor Malcolm W. Rowell, Jr.

Join fellow band alumni, parents, and friends before Multibands to enjoy great company, drinks, and hors d’oeuvres on October 20.
We’ll honor the 2017 recipients of the Band Alumni Scholarship and members of the 2017 class of the Minuteman Band Hall of Fame. You’ll get an up-close first look at a special portrait of legendary former Minuteman Band announcer Jim MacRostie — as well as the band’s new uniforms!
AND Tournament of Roses president Lance Tibbet will be in town to mingle!
To cap it off, we’ll have a “Twilight Shadows” singalong at the Minuteman statue outside Old Chapel, just before the Multibands concert!

Georgia Southern and UMass have met twice previously in the Division 1-AA Playoffs. In 1998, 11th-seeded UMass upset top-ranked Georgia Southern 55-43 to win the Division 1-AA Championship.
The following season, Georgia Southern got revenge on UMass, winning 38-21 in a Quarterfinal game in Statesboro.

Trivia… UMass and UMaine share a benefactor. The Isenberg School of Management’s 2002 addition and Maine’s stadium are named in honor of the late Harold Alfond, founder of the Dexter Shoe Company.

- Join us at the Band Building for an All-Alumni Meeting! Meet the Band Alumni Network leaders, and see where you can get involved!
- What’s your favorite Hoop Band tune? Toto’s Africa? The Sanford & Son theme? Big Noise? Play ’em all with fellow alumni and current bandos! Participants are admitted free of charge to the game.
We’ll have standard Hoop Band pullovers for you to wear with blue jeans, but please also have a maroon top!
