The UMMB family is proud to congratulate former Graduate Assistant James Minnix on his appointment to the faculty at Central Connecticut State University.
In his new role, Minnix will serve as Director of Bands and faculty member in Instrumental Music Education, helping lead the university’s band program while preparing the next generation of music educators.
Many UMMB alumni will remember Minnix from his time in Amherst, where he served as a graduate assistant with the Minuteman Marching Band. During his tenure, he contributed to the musical and educational experiences of countless students while developing the leadership and teaching skills that have defined his career.
His appointment to the Central Connecticut State faculty marks an exciting milestone and reflects a continued commitment to excellence in music education and collegiate bands.
Minnix joins a long tradition of UMMB alumni and former staff members who have gone on to lead band programs, teach future educators, and make an impact in schools and universities across the country.
