The Minuteman Marching Band community set its most ambitious UMass Gives goal ever in 2026: raise $30,000 to support instrument purchases and repairs.
In just two days, band alumni, parents, students, and friends exceeded that goal, contributing a remarkable $32,490—nearly triple the amount raised in 2025.
Led by the UMass Amherst Foundation, UMass Gives is an annual online fundraising campaign that brings community together to inspire support for programs across the university.
This year’s campaign focused on building a sustainable fund for ongoing instrument replacement, maintenance, and repairs, ensuring members have the equipment they need to succeed.
The achievement continues a tradition of successful UMass Gives campaigns for the band. Previous efforts helped fund new uniforms and establish endowed scholarships honoring George Parks and Thom Hannum.
