The UMMB is excited to welcome back longtime friend and alumnus Damon Grant for a special clinic, Get the Gig, Keep the Gig!
A former member of the Minuteman Marching Band and a familiar face to generations of UMMB drummers, Grant spent many years working with the drumline during band camp, helping students develop both their musical skills and their approach to performance.
Today, Grant is one of the most respected and in-demand percussionists in the country. His career has taken him to stages, studios, and educational events across the United States, earning a reputation not only for his musicianship but also for his professionalism and versatility.
In this free presentation, Grant will share lessons learned throughout his career in the music industry, offering practical advice on building relationships, developing a professional reputation, creating opportunities, and sustaining a successful career. While rooted in his experiences as a musician, the session’s themes extend far beyond music and will be valuable to students and professionals in any field.
