Homecoming Halftime Tribute to George N. Parks
Over 900 band alumni came to remember and honor GNP at Homecoming following his death. The show featured some of his favorite UMMB pieces, including “Canto del Viento” and music from “Phantom of the Opera” with UMMB “phantom” Tony Lechner ’93 singing. The show included a spirited playing of “Fight Mass” along with UMass alma mater “Twilight Shadows,” conducted by former band director Dr. John Jenkins. The show ended with a somber rendition of “My Way.”
