Parkers donate $42,000 to band uniform fund

Jim and Joanne Parker uniform fund

We extend a sincere and heartfelt thank you to Jim and Joanne Parker for contributing over $40,000 to our new uniform fund. This amount is enough to buy 100 new uniforms!

Jim is an alumnus of the university from the class of 1967 and has been interested in the UMMB since his freshman year of college. He is a veteran of the US Army, serving our country for over 29 years including service during the Vietnam War. He and his wife Joanne are natives of the Commonwealth and currently reside in Westfield, MA. Jim says that he has always had a passion for music since he was a young boy; his mother sang in their church choir.

The Parkers come to one football game a year and make sure to attend all aspects of UMMB Game Day, making sure they catch the pre-game concert, stay seated for the full halftime show, and wait to leave till the very end of the post-game show. This past October during the Chancellor’s Appreciation Breakfast, Jim listened to a small pep band from the UMMB play and also heard about our uniform fund. After hearing of this he asked a member of the UMMB how he could help.

From everyone at the Power and Class of New England, thank you so much Jim and Joanne Parker!
