Tony Mussari, director of the 1993 film about the rise of the band, asked the question, “What is the Power and Class of New England?” Quoting George Parks from the film, he answered, “It’s about standing for something that counts. It’s about building a group that is first and foremost, musical. It’s about teaching a group of men and women leadership.”
For Mussari, George Parks’ dream for the Minuteman Band demonstrated “a lesson that’s so precious and so valuable that it made this group extraordinary.”
Tony Mussari is a communications professor at King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Mussari-Loftus Associates produces Windsor Park Stories, a local TV program featuring messages of hope, inspiration and service.
